from I love to perform mostly because I love bringing music to life. Whether I'm cantoring at church, singing a duet with my brother, singing a song for a competition, or singing in a musical, there's something magical to me about the moment before the music starts - the quiet, the anticipation, and then the words and the notes on a page come to life in a wonderful collaboration with a composer who may have lived long ago, an audience, and other musicians who all participate in the joy of the piece. It's wonderful to be a part of bringing music to life. I will continue to study voice at college so that I'm prepared to sing in a variety of settings after college. I chose this piece because the words and the music of this piece work together so beautifully to express the emotions of longing, hope, and love., performing Whither Must I Wander composed by Ralph Vaughan Williams.
