Borealis Literary Review—"The Magazine of Northern Literature, Art & Culture" was created in December 2001 as a bimonthly journal to nurture and promote the work of publishers, writers, and other artists of the North.

Coffee House Press—Coffee House Press is an award-winning, nonprofit literary publisher dedicated to innovation in the craft of writing and preservation of the tradition of book arts. Coffee House produces books that present the dreams and ambitions of people who have been underrepresented in published literature, books that shape our national consciousness while strengthening a larger sense of community.

Graywolf Press—Based in St. Paul, Graywolf has established itself as one of the best independent non-profit literary presses in the country by discovering and promoting such writers as Jane Kenyon, Janet Kauffman, and William Kittredge. Graywolf currently publishes sixteen books a year, including poetry, novels, essays, literary criticism, and memoir.

Loft Literary Center—Founded in 1974 in a loft above a Minneapolis bookstore, the Loft bills itself as the nation's largest and most comprehensive literary center, offering programs and services for readers and writers.

Milkweed Editions—Milkweed Editions is a nonprofit literary publisher of high-quality books that places an emphasis on cultural diversity, environmental stewardship, exceptionally crafted poetry, and insightful literature for adults and children in the middle grades. It also runs a contingent site, "E-verse" which sends poems weekly to subscribers.

Minnesota Book Publishers' Roundtable—A Web site directory with links to book publishers across the state.

Minnesota Center for Book Arts—The Minnesota Center for Book Arts' mission is to advance the book as a vital contemporary art form, preserving the traditional crafts of bookmaking and engaging people in learning, production, interpretive, and collaborative experiences.

Minnesota Spoken Word Association—The MNSWA seeks to legitimize Spoken Word as an art form, promote its history and its continued influence on culture. "As the poets of the Harlem Renaissance spoke for and about their time, the Beat poets for theirs, and as the Black Arts Movement artists for the '60s and '70s—the Spoken Word artists today speak for ours."

The Playwrights' Center—The Playwrights' Center was founded in 1971 by five playwrights looking for moral and professional support of their work. Thirty years later, the Center has grown into a regional and national resource for script development, serving the needs of over 300 member writers across the country. Writers can have the rare opportunity to hear their work read aloud by professional actors, to hear comments and criticism from peers and audience members, and to develop their scripts with the help of artistic collaborators and working professionals.

Rain Taxi Review of Books—A quarterly publication featuring reviews of literary fiction, poetry, and nonfiction, with an emphasis on works that push the boundaries of language, narrative, and genre.

Ruminator Review and Ruminator Books Press—Ruminatior Review is a theme-based quarterly book magazine that features original essays, interviews, and in-depth reviews of new fiction, nonfiction, children's books, and poetry. Founded in 1986 as a strong-voiced, critical journal based in the Midwest, RR recently published its 50th issue, and has established itself as one of the country's most important book review magazines.
Ruminatior Books Press is an independent press dedicated to the publication of nonfiction and fiction literary works that represent diverse voices, both new and forgotten. It strives to produce books that bring political, social, or cultural ideas to a wide and varied readership. Collectively, Ruminator books explore and enhance the concept of community on regional and global levels.

SASE: The Write Place—A center dedicated to providing affordable quality programming for writers of all backgrounds to develop their craft and present or publish their works.
