In their review of the plans for the MPR building expansion, the Minnesota State Historic Preservation Office (MnSHPO), and the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) found that the building, as built with an electronic newsbanner on its northwest corner, had an adverse affect on the viewshed from several historic properties in the neighborhood, including Central Presbyterian Church. As part of our efforts to mitigate this adverse affect, MPR committed to development of the space between the Church and the MPR building as a transitional pocket park. MPR also committed to providing the public with the opportunity to
comment on the development of this park.
This Web site is intended to provide you with the plans for the park, and with the ability to communicate any comments that you might have. We will keep it posted until June 30. Upon completion of the comment period, we will forward your comments to NEH and to MnSHPO, and we will take your comments into consideration, and consult with MnSHPO to incorporate your comments, as appropriate, in the design and development of the park.
The drawings and plans can be downloaded to your computer and then enlarged so that you can see them more clearly.
