Artistic Statement

I love to perform on my violin. It's the culmination of months of hard work and practicing. It gives me so much joy and a sense of completion. My favorite part of performing is the end of the piece. I get a little bit nervous before performing, but by the end I'm not nervous anymore and I can have fun up on stage. In addition to being less nervous, I enjoy the ending because I can look up and play my last notes proudly and strongly and I can't help but smile as my parents beam and the audience applauds. It truly is an amazing experience. In the future I hope to play in college and throughout the rest of my life. I want to be able to pick up my instrument and just make music whenever I please. This piece was suggested to me by my teacher, Michelle Gribbon, and I immediately fell victim to its gypsy tune. It's a fast and beautiful song and it was so exciting and fun to learn and perform.
