| South St. Paul Public School Dist.: School District Question 1

| The board of Special School District No. 6 (South St. Paul Public Schools) has proposed a capital project levy authorization in the amount of 3.57% times the net tax capacity of the school district to provide funds for the purchase and installation of software and technology equipment and the support and maintenance of technology, with that technology concentrated in the areas of student computing and technology enhanced classrooms. This proposed authorization would replace the school district's prior authorization which is scheduled to expire after taxes payable in 2009. The proposed capital project levy authorization will raise approximately $656,040 for taxes payable in 2010, the first year it is to be levied, which is less than the amount levied for taxes payable in 2009 under the expiring authority. The new levy authority would be authorized for ten years. The estimated total cost of the projects to be funded over that time period is approximately $6,560,040. The projects to be funded have received a positive review and comment from the Commissioner of Education. | The board of Special School District No. 6 (South St. Paul Public Schools) has also proposed to revoke the school district's existing referendum revenue authorization of $869.57 per pupil and to replace that authorization with a new authorization of $1,009.57 per pupil. The proposed new referendum revenue authorization would be applicable for ten years unless otherwise revoked or reduced as provided by law. YES NO Shall the school district's existing referendum revenue authorization be revoked and the increase in the revenue proposed by the board of Special School District No. 6 also be approved?
