DFLer Deborah Watts, a Plymouth marketing and
management consultant, is the author of the book, "101 ways to know you're
'black' in corporate america," and a former member of the Minnesota Amateur
Sports Commission. Her Web site lists four major goals of her candidacy:
Ensuring a quality public education
Creating jobs and encouraging entrepreneurship
Expanding access to quality health care
Building stronger communities to empower people
Also according to her Web site, "she currently serves on the advisory board
of the Minnesota Organization for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention and Parenting
(MOAPPP) and the Editorial Board of the Women's Business Monthly Magazine.
As a published author, and a business leader, Deborah has conducted seminars
to assist and empower women, students, and professionals; she speaks on such
diverse topics as Leadership Development, Corporate Career Navigation, Healthy
Workplace Environments, and Personal Brand Development. She has frequently
run workshops for Women Venture and the College of St. Catherine."
