The Metrodome will have to do a little longer for the Twins, Vikings and Gophers. The stadium discussion never got off the ground in a year when legislators were grappling with a whopping deficit. Gov. Tim Pawlenty has expressed a willingness to discuss a new ballpark for the Twins next year.

After sitting out this year's legislative
session, three Minnesota sports teams seeking new stadiums are
gearing up to make their cases in 2004.
Representatives of the Metrodome's three tenants - the Twins,
Vikings and Gophers - indicated Wednesday that they will be at the
Capitol next year in pursuit of new homes. None sounded interested
in sharing space, though, meaning lawmakers might hear pitches for
three new stadiums.

The University of Minnesota should study
building a Gophers-only football stadium now that the Minnesota
Vikings have rejected a proposed shared stadium on campus,
university president Robert Bruininks said Friday.
