About the Program
Word for Word is a new weekly program featuring the very best of the nation's speeches. This one-hour program is hosted by public radio veteran Melinda Penkava, and features many high-caliber speakers such as Barack Obama, Jane Goodall, John McCain and Sandra Day O'Connor. Word for Word draws its content from the National Press Club, the Chautauqua Institution, the Aspen Institute and other notable institutions. The topics chosen for program are timely and relevant to current events. Word for Word fills an important need in public-affairs programming and offers a unique forum to hear influential and insightful thinkers make sustained arguments.
