In her newest book, author Diana Abu-Jaber tells the story of a runaway daughter, Felice, and the effect of her absence on her mother, father, and brother. Abu-Jaber explores the issues of adolescent cruelty, parental self-absorption, and hidden histories of political violence and tragedy. How can a filmmaker capture a day in the life of everyone around the planet? Kevin Macdonald used the power of the internet, YouTube specifically. With help from a team of researchers, he pieced together real-life footage selected from more than 80,000 video submissions, all shot on July 24, 2010, from people all over the globe.
