Question: What do you think should be done -- if anything -- in the wake of the near collapse of companies specializing in subprime mortgages, and the foreclosures of homes?
Glen MenzeGlen Menze ANSWER OPTION: I would like to see a bailout package that would restructure existing subprime mortgages. If a homeowner can't refinance because the value of the house has plummeted, the government could step in to fill the gap between a home's existing value and the original value when the mortgage was taken out.

Collin PetersonCollin Peterson ANSWER OPTION: The subprime mortgage industry should be regulated, but I do not support the $700 billion bailout package. The immense cost of financing a bailout will be passed along to future generations.
