Minn. PCA issues air pollution alert

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has issued an air pollution health advisory for the Twin Cities and Rochester.

The alert is for Sunday and Monday. The agency says sunny skies, hot temperatures and light winds are leading to pollution concentrations that considered unhealthy for sensitive groups. Those include children and the elderly, people with preexisting respiratory or cardiovascular problems, and those participating in outdoor activities requiring extended or heavy exertion.

Those at risk are urged to postpone vigorous outdoor activity or to try to schedule it in the morning when ozone levels are lower.
