For months now, a team from Missouri-based Quimby Pipe Organs has been restoring and adjusting the St. Paul Cathedral's two organs.
Company president and Tonal Director Michael Quimby told Morning Edition Jim Bickal that new and refurbished pipes are in place, as is the mechanism which draws air into the instrument.
Now, the Quimby crew needs to wait until the temperature is below 70 degrees to finish tuning the instrument.
Once that process is complete, the cathedral is planning a big celebration, likely at the end of October.
