Ten days after the presidential election, each state is required to submit plans for a web-based health care exchange under the 2010 Affordable Care Act. Gov. Mark Dayton has said that his goal is to work with the Legislature to submit a blueprint by that deadline and to finalize an exchange for Minnesota in early January.
Where does the state stand in building this blueprint? And how does Minnesota compare with other states, especially those with Republican governors who are opposed to the ACA?
Julie Appleby, senior correspondent for Kaiser Health News, will join The Daily Circuit Tuesday to discuss the health exchanges. Commissioner of Human Services Lucinda Jesson and state Health and Human Services Committee Chairman Sen. David Hann, R-Eden Prairie, will also join the discussion.
