Changing dialects in the Great Lakes region

Regional dialects around the United States generally remain intact even as communication technology increases our exposure to others who pronounce the same words differently. That's not the case in the region that rings the Great Lakes. Linguistics note that in our region we are all talking less like our northern East Coast neighbors.
