Tuesday is primary Election Day in Minnesota. Secretary of State Mark Ritchie says he's expecting low turnout, which is typical for primaries -- probably about 15 percent or less.

Because this is a redistricting year, some polling places may have changed. Ritchie is encouraging people who plan to vote in the primary to go to the Secretary of State's website, which has information about the races and polling places.

"You can actually go the website ... and type in your address and find out where you're supposed to go vote," Ritchie says. "Maybe it's changed, maybe it's the same, but it will tell you. Second, you can double-check your registration."

There are dozens of DFL and Republican legislative primaries around the state, along with two major congressional primaries.

In the 8th District in northeastern Minnesota, Democrats Jeff Anderson, Tarryl Clark and Rick Nolan are competing for the chance to run against U.S. Rep. Chip Cravaack. In the 1st District in southern Minnesota, Republicans Mike Parry and Allen Quist are running to get on the GOP ticket against DFL Rep. Tim Walz.
