The Library of Congress created a list of 88 books that shaped America. From Thomas Paine to Toni Morrison, the LOC hopes this list will start a discussion about the books written by Americans that have influenced our lives.

Gordon Hutner, professor of English at the University of Illinois, joined The Daily Circuit Friday to discuss the list. Mark Dimunation, chief of the Rare Book and Special Collections Division at the Library of Congress, also joined the discussion.
