How the Healthcare Reform Act will actually affect your care
Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel was a special adviser to the White House on healthcare policy during the most heated national debate over healthcare reform.
He was painted by critics as a proponent of "death panels" and rationing, but Dr. Emanuel contends that The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act he supported will be "a major catalyst to reform in the system and by the end of the decade, (in) 2020, we will have a much better healthcare system because of it."
He joins Kerri to discuss how the PPACA will affect the actual delivery of care.
Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel is the Penn Integrates Knowledge Professor at the University of Pennsylvania. From 2009 to 2011 he served as special adviser for health policy to the White House Office of Budget and Management.
Dr. Emanuel will present the Dienard Memorial Lecture on Law and Medicine at 11:30 am at the University of Minnesota's Humphrey center.
