The Defense Department says a Marine from Maplewood has died in Afghanistan.
The Pentagon says 27-year-old Chad D. Frokjer died Thursday while conducting combat operations in Helmand province. The department's news release didn't provide further details.
Frokjer was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force.
