In the 50+ seasons that the Minnesota Twins have been playing baseball, there have only been five games in which they held the opposition hitless. The fifth no-hitter in team history happened last night in Chicago.

Starting pitcher Francisco Liriano, who has struggled all season, was the unlikely hero. The 1-0 no-hitter against the White Sox was the first shutout and complete game of Liriano's career.

MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with Aaron Gleeman to offer some perspective on this achievement. Gleeman writes about the Twins at AaronGleeman.com and at NBCSports.com.
