Duluth: Peace Bell

Bell detail
The bell is a replica of the temple bell that is housed in Ohara, Japan. The only difference is that the inscription on this bell tells the story of Ohara's bell and how it traveled to Duluth and back, after World War II.

Follow West Skyline Parkway up a windy path in Duluth and you will eventually reach Enger Park.

Named after Norwegian immigrant and self-made business man Bert Enger, the park sits on top of the bluff overlooking Lake Superior and Duluth's industrial shipping industry.

The park itself isn't too big but it has a lot to offer. Besides the sweeping views, there's a rec center and the newest addition: a Japanese, zen garden.

It's in the zen garden that the Peace Bell is located. The bell is a replica of a bell that rings out in the city of Ohara, Japan -- the sister city of Duluth.
