Bachmann to change ad after State Fair objects to using logoby Annie Baxter, Minnesota Public Radio
St. Paul, Minn. — U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann's campaign is changing its latest campaign ad, after the Minnesota State Fair objected to the unauthorized use of its logo.
Bachmann, a Republican, is running for re-election in the 6th Congressional District against DFLer Tarryl Clark. Bachmann's new ad suggests that Clark voted to raise taxes on several State Fair items. The ad used the State Fair logo twice.
State Fair spokeswoman Brooke Dillon says the fair called Bachmann's campaign manager to ask that the ad be taken down.
"It's unfortunate. We don't want the perception out there that we're endorsing her. We don't endorse anyone," said Dillon. "So of course our logo was misused and we want that taken down as soon as possible."
Bachmann's campaign says it will change the ad to use a more generic logo.
