Cass County authorities have charged a man with manslaughter in the weekend death of a 2-month-old child, saying he got drunk, passed out and lay on top of the child while babysitting.
Arthur Berger also is charged with child abuse or neglect.
Fargo police said the baby was not breathing when found about 2 a.m. Saturday at a Fargo home. They have described the 46-year-old Berger as a transient who knew the child's family but was not a relative.
