St. Paul city officials are selling cheap houses, with asking prices from $50,000 all the way down to $1.
The city's Housing and Redevelopment Authority is selling 11 properties, but only to buyers who demonstrate they can finance repairs that could cost anywhere from $140,000 to $190,000.
Buyers must explain how they will do the work and agree to make fixes that satisfy city rules and historic preservation guidelines for the Dayton's Bluff neighborhood.
For example, the buyer of a $1 property would have to deal with a rotted wall and joists, studs, beams and posts that were damaged by a fire.
Six homes are on display Tuesday and the others are open on Thursday.
