Households have one day left to apply for a coupon toward the costs of a digital television converter box.
To apply for the $40 coupon, households must call 1-888-DTV-2009 or visit www.DTV2009.gov before Friday. The coupons are valid for 90 days after they are issued and are transferrable, meaning they can be given to others.
A national non-profit organization has requested that families donate unneeded coupons to an exchange program. The donated coupons will be given to low-income households.
Coupons can be mailed to: Leadership Conference on Civil Rights Education Fund, National DTV Coupon Exchange Program, P.O. Box 66081, Washington, DC 20035.
