Betsy Mowry is a mosaic artist and administrator for COMPAS, an art education program. She's excited about "Shipwrecked! An Entertainment," a new play that celebrates the magic of tall tales -- man-eating octopus and all. The play runs at the Jungle Theater through June 28.

Pete Driessen is a visual artist in Minneapolis. He's planning on heading to the 801 Lofts to see the densely-layered oil paintings of David Rich. The show, which also features the work of Jeremy Bue and Barbara Gilooly, is having its opening reception this Saturday from 6-9 p.m.
Barbara Sibley (aka Blanche Fubar) is a DJ of the weekly "Fubar Omniverse" on KFAI. This weekend she's taking a road trip up to Nisswa for the 10th Annual Nisswa-Stamman Scandinavian Folk Music Festival. The two-day festival will feature visiting musicians from Scandinavia as well as local groups with Nordic roots.
