Art Hounds: Week of May 7by Chris Roberts, Minnesota Public Radio
Each week Minnesota Public Radio News asks three people from the Minnesota arts scene to be "Art Hounds." Their job is to step outside their own work and hunt down something exciting that's going on in local arts.
Krista Vilinskis is co-founder of Tinderbox Music, a music promotions and distribution company in Minneapolis. She also runs a small record label called Princess Records. Krista's a longtime fan of Mogwai, a Scottish rock band that specializes in guitar-based, fuzzed out instrumental music. Mogwai is playing at the First Avenue mainroom on Mother's day, May 10.
Lacey Prpic Hedtke is a photographer, writer and musician in the Twin Cities. She's excited about the pinhole photography exhibit that's being shown at the Minneapolis Photo Center through the end of May.
John Bueche is the Co-Artistic Director of the Bedlam Theatre in Minneapolis. He's looking forward to the new musical "20 Days to Find a Wife," playing at the History Theatre through May 31. The show is based on the true story of a 50 year-old lighthouse manager who is granted leave from his post to find love.
