Wildfire burns along U.S. 169 near Shakopee

A large grass fire has been burning since midday near Shakopee. The fire is reported to be in the area along U.S. Highway 169, between county road 83 and county road 18.

Firefighters with eight agencies have responded including the DNR and the State Patrol.

Dry conditions and strong winds have increased the chances for wildfires in parts of the state this week.

Sgt. Dawn Ganske is a of the Scott County Police Department says the fire has not been contained as of 3 p.m.
