John Ydstie, reporter for National Public Radio, talks with Gary Eichten and takes listener questions about the current economic crisis.

Ydstie is getting a return engagement as the network's economics correspondent, having filled that role in the late 1980's and then again from 1993 through 2003.  

In the interim, Ydstie applied his reporting and interviewing skills as a roving national correspondent, covering both Hurricane Katrina and the Jack Abramoff lobbying scandal. During 1991 and 1992 Ydstie was NPR's bureau chief in London. In August 1990, he traveled to Saudi Arabia for NPR as a member of the Pentagon press pool sent to cover the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait.
