St. Paul, Minn. — More than 25 years into the AIDS epidemic, HIV infection continues to take a toll in the United States.

Globally, it has orphaned an estimated 12 million children in sub-Saharan Africa and is on the rise in China.

Midmorning speaks with a local doctor about the latest in HIV/AIDS research and prevention efforts, at home and abroad.
