Anti-war demonstrators rally at Colorado Capitol
Denver (AP) — About 200 anti-war demonstrators have gathered outside the Colorado state Capitol for a rally before marching through downtown Denver on the eve of the Democratic National Convention. The march Sunday morning was the first of at least five protests planned this week by the group Recreate 68.
The crowd listened to folk singers and anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan before setting out for the Pepsi Center, site of the convention.
Among the protesters is Nancy Minshall, who lived in Chicago in 1968. She says she doesn't expect the protests planned in Denver to compare the riots in Chicago 40 years ago because there's more tolerance for free speech today.
