June 3, 2008, may well go down as a historic moments in U.S. politics, as Barack Obama became the first black presumptive presidential nominee of a major U.S. political party.
The night brought to conclusion a long primary season, as voters in Montana and South Dakota voted in the nation's last primaries. All three candidates took the opportunity to speak to their supporters.

Hillary Clinton, U.S. Sen. from New York
Sen. Hillary Clinton spoke to supporters in New York City.
Clinton thanked her supporters for a long fought race. Even though Obama seemed to have wrapped up the nomination, Clinton said she would not talk about her future for a couple of days.

Barack Obama, presumptive Democratic nominee
Barack Obama spoke to 17,000 supporters inside of the Xcel Center in St. Paul, while 15,000 stood outside.
Obama declared himself the presumptive Democratic nominee. During his speech he echoed his centrla campaign theme of change.
