Rep. Tim Walz reported raising more than $1 million last year, following a fourth quarter that pulled in $249,000.
Walz, a freshman Minnesota Democrat, says he had more than $750,000 in the bank at the end of the year.
Republican candidate Dick Day, a state senator from Owatonna, raised $210,000 last year, including $53,000 in the fourth quarter, and ended the year with nearly $100,000 in the bank.
Two other Republican candidates, state Rep. Randy Demmer of Hayfield and Brian Davis, a Mayo Clinic doctor, both helped out their campaigns with some of their own money.
Demmer reported raising $205,000 so far, including $54,000 in the fourth quarter. Of the $205,000, $135,000 came in loans Demmer made to the campaign. He finished the year with $42,000 in the bank.
Davis, meanwhile, has donated $46,000 to his campaign. Overall, he raised $160,000 last year, including $62,000 in the fourth quarter. He finished with over $80,000 in the bank.
