The I-35W bridge over the Mississippi in Minneapolis collapsed during rush hour on August 1, 2007, plunging dozens of cars and their occupants into the river.
Peter Sanderson, with Flatiron/Manson, is the man who will be overseeing the I-35W bridge construction project. Work on the bridge rebuild officially begins Thursday, and is meant to last 437 days. He spoke with MPR's Cathy Wurzer.
