Local Lawyer Documents Torture of Oromo Population

St. Paul, Minn. — Lawyer Laura Provinzino worked with Minnesota Advocates for Human Rights interviewing Oromo refugees in the Twin Cities.
Here, she reads an excerpt from their upcoming report. Provinzino points out that much of what they learned fits squarely within the UN definition of torture. Refugees told interviewers again and again that government leaders, military personnel and security personnel in prisons in Ethiopia were the perpetrators of the psychological and physical pain inflicted on them.
