Oberstar to push for money to rebuild bridge

U.S. Rep. Jim Oberstar, D-Minn., is chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. He was standing at the podium in the House Wednesday evening, when he got news of the I-35W bridge collapse on his Blackberry.

Oberstar is introducing legislation to increase funding for Minnesota by $250 million under the federal Emergency Relief Program. He also aims to to provide authorization for increased funding for Minnesota's transit system.
