A real bread winner
The Turtle Bread Co. is known as one of the best bakeries in the Twin Cities. Now, its head baker could be named one of the best in the world.
St. Paul, Minn. — Head baker at Turtle Bread Co. in Minneapolis, Solveig Tofte, has been named to the 2008 USA Bread Bakers Guild Team. She will compete next spring in the Coupe du Monde de la Boulangerie or World Cup of Baking held in Paris.
Tofte was named to the national team after winning in the Baguette and Specialty Bread category of the Bread Bakers Guild of America's national competition this week.
On the phone from California, Solveig Tofte spoke with MPR's Greta Cunningham about her rise to bread-baking stardom.
