The stretch of Highway 36 between Maplewood and Oakdale is closed. For at least four months, 40,000 drivers will have to find alternate routes.

For businesses nearby, the change of routine for so many potential customers presents a serious challenge.

Nestled near the highway is the oldest continually operating bar in Minnesota, Neuman's Bar. MPR's Cathy Wurzer talked with one of the owners of the bar, Jim Masterson, about how the construction will affect his business.
