Daniel Ellsberg is one of the most famous and influential whistleblowers in modern American history.

In 1971, the former Marine, Defense Department, and State Department analyst leaked the so-called "Pentagon Papers" to the press. They revealed deep government reservations about the conflict in Vietnam, covering three presidential administrations.

Ellsberg faced 115 years in prison for an act many considered treasonous, and others considered heroic.

"In The Loop" host Jeff Horwich spent some time with the 76-year-old activist at a recent visit to the home of a friend in St. Paul.
