What does the U.S. need to do in Iraq?

Two leading Republican senators, Chuck Hagel of Nebraska and John Warner of Virginia, have both said the U.S. may need to seek a new course in Iraq. Meanwhile, President Bush has personally assured his Iraqi counterpart that the U.S. has no plan to pull out. What course should America take in Iraq?
