Haley Bonar's beautiful melancholy tunes seem to be written by someone older than a woman in her early twenties. But that could be because Bonar has a lot of experience; she was playing gigs in bars well before she could legally drink in them.
The Canadian-born, South Dakota-raised Bonar spent some time in Duluth but the winters didn't agree with her. She now makes her home here in Minneapolis. She brought her guitar along to the State Fair to play for Mary Lucia and a mini-donut-fattened crowd.
Songs performed: "Highway 16," and "Tiger Boy."
