Surrealist folk outfit Magnet is mainly driven by singer-songwriter Even Johansen of Bergen, Norway. He merges ethereal melodies and soaring vocals with programmed beats and unusual instrumentation to create a warm, swirling, welcoming pop sound.

Austin, TX — Johansen grew up in the wake of his father's musical career, and gravitated toward writing and performing from an early age. After moving to Scotland, he began to pursue a musical career with more focus. Under the name Magnet, he released the critically acclaimed "On Your Side" in September of 2004, following up with this year's "The Tourniquet" in February.
