A stormy Monday afternoon and evening is on tap, with the chance for severe weather primarily across western Minnesota. A cold front moving through the region will spark showers and thunderstorms, some of which could produce large hail and damaging winds.
Warm temperatures mark the first day of meteorological summer
It’s a warm start to meteorological summer, with temperatures climbing into the mid to upper 80s. Monday will bring even hotter conditions, with highs reaching into the 90s, along with the potential for strong storms. A cool down is expected by Tuesday with temperatures returning to the 60s and 70s.
Hazy skies ahead as temperatures climb
Hazy skies are ahead as temperatures climb, with wildfire smoke continuing to blanket much of the state. An air-quality alert remains in effect through Monday at 6 p.m. Temperatures will heat up over the weekend and into early next week, with highs in the 80s and 90s expected across the region.
