The recent spring storm is expected to bring rain, freezing rain, and snow to parts of Minnesota. A messy transition will take place late Saturday night into Sunday morning, with snow accumulation possible by Sunday afternoon. Breezy winds will persist throughout the weekend, with gusts exceeding 20 mph.

After a record-breaking Friday with temperatures in the 80s and thunderstorms, winter makes a comeback with a mix of rain, freezing rain, sleet, and snow. A complex storm system is expected to affect the region from Saturday into Sunday.
Record-breaking Friday; wintry mess on Saturday
Record-breaking warmth is possible on Friday, with temperatures soaring into the 70s and 80s across the metro and southern Minnesota. However, a spring storm system will move in on Saturday, bringing a wintry mix of freezing rain, sleet, rain, and snow.
Complicated weekend forecast with two rounds of wintry precipitation
Temperatures will vary greatly from south to north Friday. The first round of wintry precipitation will affect northern Minnesota Friday and the rest of the state Saturday into early Sunday. 
Sunshine and 60s Thursday followed by thunderstorms and snow
A calm before the storm with filtered sunshine and temperatures rising into the 50s and 60s Thursday. By Friday, highs will soar into the 70s and 80s before the next system arrives, bringing a threat of severe weather to the south, accumulating snow to central Minnesota and the potential for ice up north.
