Nancy Harms & Whims of The Sea

Posted at 6:00 AM on February 27, 2010 by Dale Connelly (2 Comments)

Tonight on Radio Heartland on Minnesota Public Radio News stations, a visit with a young singer from Clara City, Minnesota. Nancy Harms set out to become an elementary school teacher and learned that her destiny had more to do with the American songbook than a fifth grade math text. She came to the Twin Cities to sing in local clubs and learn the subtle techniques of interpreting a song. Her first CD is a very encouraging debut called "In The Indigo."

In hour two we'll re-visit a program first broadcast last September, cataloging just a few of the many songs in which heros and lovers are disappointed, tempest tossed, separated, sunk, blown off course and treated callously by the whims of the heartless, rolling sea. Batten down the hatches!

Nancy Harms and the rolling, roiling sea, tonight on Radio Heartland. This program will also be heard on Sunday at noon and Monday at 6pm on radioheartland.org and 91.1 HD2 KNOW in the Twin Cities.

Hi All,
I'm listen to the Sunday rebroadcast of Saturday night and I'm so glad I remembered to listen this morning. I really love Nancy Harms! I can't wait to see her live in one of the local venues. Thanks to RH for bringing another local artist to us.

Hi Kathy,

Thanks for listening.
Unfortunately, Nancy doesn't have any shows scheduled in Wisconsin. Her next performance is at Barbette in Minneapolis on March 4th, and then in Watertown Minnesota at their film festival on March 13th.
You can check Nancy's schedule at her website!
