Tonight on Radio Heartland on Minnesota Public Radio News, I'll dig into the library for songs about the need for speed. Musicians are always in a hurry to get to the next gig, and audiences respond whenever somebody plays fast so we'll spend an hour exploring a plentiful number of tunes about racing cars, horses and each other, on foot.
In hour two, we'll feature a visit from one of my all-time favorite bands, Rani Arbo and Daisy Mayhem. The members of the group are all at a stage in life where their main responsibility is to raise children, so their minds are tuned to speak the language of youth.
We'll talk about Daisy Mayhem's upcoming children's album, chatty animals at the zoo, and Rani's successful treatment for cancer.
That's Radio Heartland, tonight from 9 to 11 pm on the stations of Minnesota Public Radio News.
