Tonight on Radio Heartland on Minnesota Public Radio News stations, we'll dip into the archives for a re-visit with the men from "When A Man Loves A Diva". This festival of feminine songs done by manly males was such a success last spring at the Lab Theater in Minneapolis, the show has returned for an August run. Minnesota Public Radio members can get a ticket discount to these shows when you order online, by entering the discount code "MPR". The guys will lip-rumble their way through "Leader of the Pack" and give you a completely fresh way to experience Madonna's "Like a Virgin" in the first hour of tonight's show.
In the second hour, Austin Texas-based singer-songwriter Ray Bonneville is my guest. Ray is in Minnesota for Red House Records' outdoor festival, "Blues at the Barn", at Hobgoblin Music near Red Wing this afternoon. We'll talk about his musical influences and Ray will re-live the 40 minutes that convinced him to choose music over his other ambition - to be a professional bush pilot.
Stay out of the clouds and watch for power lines!
That's tonight on Radio Heartland.
