Neal and Leandra are as normal as people can be when they're artistic and incredibly talented and also married to each other.
They are the anti-Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
How so? They simply don't let the great singer / great songwriter aspect of their personalities intrude on the ordinariness of their home life. You get the feeling Brad and Angelina have to struggle to clash over mundane things. With BrAngelina, it's always whether or not we adopt another child and whose turn is it to be in new Hollywood blockbuster and which part of the globe should we try to save next? With NeaLeandra it's obvious from the moment you meet them that they could casually break your heart with a beautiful ballad and then turn around and have a nice week-long feud with each other over whose turn it is to take out the trash. That's the common touch, and that's why Neal and Leandra are this week's guests on Radio Heartland, Saturday night at 9 pm on MPR news.
And we'll hear some songs chosen by listeners for the Radio Heartland Musical Economic Stimulus Package. Nobody knows if it has the slightest chance of making a difference, but we had fun considering the myriad possibilities and tossing a few tunes out there just for the heck of it.
All the money's already gone.
What have we got to lose?
Hello Radio Heartland!
My computer is tuned in, I am looking forward to tonight's show. I am chuckling imagining the trash feud. Welcome Neal and Leandra!
Relaxing tonight after running the Twin Cities Snowshoe 5K earlier today and listening to RH. First time I've heard "Don't Push Send." Great advice. I've learned that the recall action hardly works. I so appreciate the variety of music here. Thanks again.
thanx for playing sonny and cher, haven't heard that song for many years, made me smile
I listen to the show on KNOW, as I do evening chores. When I realized you hadn't played anything by Lou and Peter Berryman I thought I'd drop you a note. But I am limited by a dial-up connection that declined to connect until the show was over. Please pass the word to Jasper if you continue the theme next week.
