More than a dozen people in Minnesota have gotten sick from eating eggs tainted with salmonella, despite a national recall. Today's Question: Have you changed your behavior in response to the egg recall?

I still buy my organic eggs from my local co-op, I know they're safe.
Yes. We are finished purchasing eggs from giant farms. Instead, local well known and respected farms will be the source.
No.
Not at all. Still buying local eggs from small producers and still undercooking them as always. There's always a risk eating any food, but there's a bigger risk eating lettuce (for example) than eggs. And, if my local egg supplier has to recall all of her production, it will affect maybe 100 people, and not millions. And to whomever thinks they're Trader Joe's eggs are safe, they're just not recalled (yet). To wit, it's our demand and reliance on cheap food that provides incentive for producers to cut corners on supplies, labor and farming methods. You're either going to pay for egg quality up front or pay for bad quality on the back end with expensive recalls, health care costs for illness and environmental damage ... pick your pleasure. I'd rather spend 35 to 40 cents an egg up front.
I became a Co-op shopper about 6-7 years ago and all the eggs sold there are locally produced and organic; I have no worries about my super-nutritious, delicious eggs!
Instead of throwing these eggs away, maybe we should ship them to China in exchange for some children's toys.
Isn't it obvious that this outbreak was engineered by the marxist Obama administration to scare people into demanding more regulation and gummint intrusion into the Free Market? It's all part of his muslim plot to impose socialism and enslave us!
On the other hand, maybe it's space-aliens impersonating chickens so as to infiltrate our planet, secretly poison us all, and take Earth's natural resources for themselves. It's hard to tell. The two scenarios are equally likely.
Yes. I'm 38 weeks pregnant and have been avoiding eggs all together since the recall to be on the safe side.
I have not, because Trader Joe's eggs are all safe. And cheap.

Yes, unfortunetly I have. I tend to enjoy eating them sunny side up and cleaning up my plate wiping up the yolks with some toast. I will definitely start buying them agian once when this recall has blown over.
Since I have always eaten fully cooked eggs, I have not made any changes.
Choosing local producers is a great way to support local economy but does not relate to food quality. It was a local dairy selling raw milk tainted with e-coli.
Even though I only buy local eggs, for now I'm not putting a raw egg in my protein shake every morning...something I've been doing since I was a kid. Sad, really.
No, we have not. Because we raise our own chickens, we don't have to worry about the consequences of corporate negligence.
I eat free-range organic eggs (and meat for that matter). Factory farming has made the food they produce just too risky. I realize good sanitation and preparation methods are necessary regardless of how food is raised, handled, processed and stored, but we've had just one too many large health scares and recalls of factory food to make that a viable option anymore.
I THREW AWAY SOME EGGS LAST WEEK AND I AM EXTREMELY CAREFUL! MY WIFE IS EATING HARD BOILED EGGS!
Yes, we have probably modified our use somewhat. No more over easy in favor of scrambled and hard boiled. I am also careful where I buy them.

We have been buying local eggs recently. They cost a little more but they seem safe and they taste better. Plus it is kind of fun getting to know people who produce your food.
Not really. I started taking a more proactive approach to food in general after the string of recalls in the past few years instead of being reactive. Cooking food thoroughly, washing produce thoroughly, even the supposedly triple washed lettuce!
If this latest recall has done anything, it certain has made me more and more frustrated with the lack of regulations on the food industry in this country. There needs to be more power given to the FDA so they actually can do their jobs and, ya know, regulate things and monitor our food supply to prevent these outbreaks! Proactive, not reactive!
Still eating eggs but now focusing on hard boiled or scrambled vs. sunny side up!.
No - Eating eggs has always been a risk - I have always taken precautions by cooking eggs thoroughly and purchasing my eggs from small local farms where this lack of regulation is not an issue.
