EMILY's List targets Cravaack

Freshman Republican Rep. Chip Cravaack is one of five House Republicans who have been put on notice by the liberal group EMILY's List that it intends to spend heavily to oust him in next year's election.

The group, which supports female Democratic candidates (including DFL Sen. Amy Klobuchar), says Cravaack's record during his first three months in office shows that his seat is vulnerable to a Democratic candidate who supports the right to legal abortion:

While Minnesota families struggle in the tough economy, what's Cong. Cravaack's first priority after taking office? Forget job creation - it was redefining rape. Cravaack was an original co-sponsor of H.R. 3, which actually attempted to redefine rape and led to incredible outrage over such a crass, inhumane act toward survivors of sexual assault.

EMILY's List stands for Early Money Is Like Yeast and has become a powerful player in Democratic politics. According to the Center for Responsive Politics, the group's political action committee spent more than $27 million in 2010 supporting liberal candidates.

Meanwhile, the guessing game over who will run against Cravaack in the 8th District next year continues. Lt. Gov. Yvonne Prettner Solon said yesterday that she won't challenge Cravaack in his DFL-leaning district.

Gotta love how a "Pro" liberal group is allowed to "go after" a Republican but when its a center right group pointing out a candidate's affinity for infanticide or forcing taxpayers to fund abortion as a form of birth control..... its considered radical, extreme, and an assault.

Emily's List is a fringe left anti-GOP group who skirts campaign finance laws and funnels millions and millions to Democrats for the purpose of continuing the barbaric act of having an abortion for no other reason than convenience and making sure that taxpayers pick up the bill.
