The Minnesota Chapter of the National Organization for Women announced today
"An endorsement means that they are a strong supporter of women's rights and if we have multiple candidates in a race that meet that criteria, we will endorse multiple candidates."
Gustafson says the PAC Board also rated Democrat Mark Dayton but declined to offer specifics until the board notifies the campaign of the rating. Update: Gustafson says the group gave Democrat Mark Dayton a "C" rating for his positions on abortion and welfare reform.
It's National Organization FOR Women, not OF Women!!
NOW (obviously) supports both feminist women and feminist men!
"NOW (obviously) supports both feminist women and feminist men!"
Or at least they do AFTER their membership calls and raises hell. No one does a double endorsement days apart unless the membership forces them to.
I do not think there is a single organization in Minnesota (or anywhere else) that endorses candidates that actually polls their members before endorsing/not endorsing.
But now that that's settled, how much money and how many volunteers is a NOW endorsement worth these days?
I would really like to see why they shied away from Mark Dayton. I like him very much as a candidate.
